She took first place all around again this weekend even though her meet had a pretty rough start with only a 7.3 on floor, UGH! She pulled herself together to go on to get a 9.3 on vault, a 9.2 on beam and an 8.9 on bars, taking first in all but floor.
Having such a hard time on floor really made her focus harder on her other events and she did the best beam routine I have ever seen her do. It has also given her drive to get back in the gym and really work on those few components that she missed or messed up. Hopefully by the end of the season I will be reporting firsts in all events.
My DH took these pictures, although we did discuss the settings and such on the way to the meet, does that count? LOL
He took them in sports mode with the ISO bumped up to 1600 and no flash(for obvious reasons). He also set the white balance by finding out the heat of the lights in the gym, that seemed to work fairly well.
I did have to lighten them all a bit in levels and do a color correct for a greenish cast that you can still see in a couple of them.

Congratulations to her! How great! DD's best friend is a gymnast; I wonder if they're ever at the same competitions. You're a good teacher; DH did a good job. I haven't been able to get my DH to learn my camera even a little bit, even though when we bought it it was supposed to be "our" camera because he was the photographer in the family.
