The Reluctant Model

UH Oh!!! She is starting to balk at sitting for me. I might be in trouble here ladies.
See that face.... yeah .... I am pretty sure that means "get that camera out of my face NOW Mummy" .
I actually think she still likes it she just feels like she has to protest you know to make it seem more like a typical mother daughter exchange. LOL

I broke down and took her outside tonight, even though it was like 14 degrees, because I am SICK TO DEATH of inside photos with my darn kit lenses, fighting to get the settings somewhere within the usable range. BLAH!
It was just before sunset and I had her facing the sun, great soft warm light, made for much easier photo taking.
Settings are for both photos.
40-150 f/3.5-4.5
150mm
f/4.5
1/200
ISO100

I can't wait to get outside again, too! But these photos are terrific - love her facial expression in the first one and the colors in the second are so fun!

Love that face she's making at you in the first one. When I'm desperate for a human subject to photograph, I resort to laying on guilt. It actually got kind of warm today, huh?

Love both of them, but think I prefer the color shot, the colors are so pretty! She's a beautiful girl with adorable freckles!

I so NEED that hat! I'm always on the lookout for fun, creative head wear and this one looks fantastic. Loving the first shot.

Uh oh... I am seriously thinking about inventing some sort of camoflage (sp?) for the camera.. because seriously whenever the camera comes out, my kids magically disappear!!

hey liz,

i just noticed you asked where i got my dd's bedding...it was from HOME GOODS (tj maxx). it was ONLY 35.00 for a KING size! i put a King size on her single bed and i LOVE how it hangs on the ground! it gives the illusion of a dust ruffle without one!!! they have the pillowcase covers there too! i forgot what the brand is, but i have seen them still there in the last few months!

Boy do I feel your pain with a kit lens and dull winter light. Great job on that second shot.
